[Ellie crosses her arms over her chest. She doesn't take well to people she cares about hurting her feelings, even if that wasn't anywhere near their intent. Even if it never occurred to them. There are so few people that she lets herself like that much that when one of them fucks up, it sucks. A lot. And she turns into a moody, grumpy teenager.]
[Skye purses her lips for a moment, wondering how to proceed. Then she shrugs and follows her in, closing the door behind her with her foot, since both hands are occupied with the cake box.
She stands on the landing, looking around awkwardly.]
... I was alone for a long time. Before I joined SHIELD. Before I came here. I grew up in a lot of different foster homes, but... I never had a family. Didn't make friends. ... I'm not really-- used to thinking of my actions in terms of how they'll affect the people closest to me. ... But I get it now.
[Ellie can sort of get it. Her only friend had been Riley, and even then it was relatively brief--she was thirteen when she met her and fourteen when she lost her. Riley hadn't understood how her up and leaving hurt Ellie and she forgave her, so she supposes she can do the same for Skye.

This one's what they call a flourless chocolate cake. It's less rich, so you eat more without making yourself sick.

No one else as pissed as me?

It was a really shitty thing to do.

[She shrugs. She could play it off as being upset for Jesse's sake, but...]
You might get a pass this time.
