She likes him because he's like Joel but nicer. He seems to respect her. If he didn't, she'd be way more pissy than usual.

My room is next to Tess' if you just want to slide it under the door.

[ It's slipped under the door in short order: a rough sketch, as promised. Crowded with detail, the floor plan spans two pages. The lines strong but hastily drawn—a jagged N in the corner designating north. An X marks what's presumably the start, a wide, open room leading to an endlessly complicated and progressively more twisted series of side rooms, passageways, staircases. There are no other labels, no indication of a path through the rooms upon rooms, but it's not difficult to identify as the library.

A note scribbled in the corner of the second page reads (with enough squinting):

I'll want these back. Ask me for something in return sometime. ]
